MALDEF 2011 Los Angeles Awards Gala Photo Gallery
On November 15, MALDEF hosted the organization's 2011 Los Angeles Awards Gala at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel. The Gala brought together MALDEF supporters, business and nonprofit leaders, civil rights advocates, lawyers and others from across the city to honor the work and service to three pillars of the Latino community for their contributions through unparalleled achievement and commitment to the Latino community, the arts, and community service respectively.
Honorees included: Antonia Hernandez, President & CEO, California Community Foundation; Former President & General Counsel, MALDEF, who was recipient of the Valerie Kantor Award for Extraordinary Achievement; Linda Ronstadt, Activist and Recording Artist, who was recipient of the Lifetime Achievement, Leadership in the Arts Award; and Roland Palencia, Community Activist, who was recipient of the Excellence in Community Service Award.
