MALDEF Law School Scholarship Program

Since MALDEF’s founding, it has been an organizational hallmark to support the next generation of lawyers who will advance the civil rights of the Latino community. MALDEF’s Law School Scholarship Program provides several scholarships in varying amounts to deserving law students with a commitment to advancing the civil rights of Latinos. MALDEF’s Law School Scholarship Program is open to all law students who will be enrolled full-time in an American-accredited law school in 2010-2011.

Scholarships are awarded to students based on their commitment to serve the Latino community through law; their past achievement and potential for achievement; and their financial need.


MALDEF’s 2010-2011 Law School Scholarship Application

COMPLETE APPLICATIONS REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING FIVE (5) ITEMS:
  1. Completed 2010-2011 MALDEF Law School Scholarship Application Form, including a completed Financial Statement Form from your law school.
  2. Current Resume.
  3. Personal Statement of 750 words or less, double-spaced, detailing your background, history of service to the Latino community, and interests in law.
  4. Two (2) Letters of Recommendation that highlight your past achievement and history of service to the Latino community.
  5. For current law students only: most recent Law School Transcript.

COMPLETE APPLICATIONS ARE DUE SEPTEMBER 30, 2010.
