LOS ANGELES – Thomas A. Saenz, president and general counsel of MALDEF (Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund) issued the following statement on the death of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg:
“She was a hero. She was a warrior. She was a champion. She is an inspiration. Justice Ginsburg made our nation truer to its articulated principles and to its constitutional aspirations. Our society is more equitable because she advocated and because she adjudicated. Her prominent place in American judicial history is secure, and her stature in our jurisprudential future, as example and as goal, is even more powerfully dynamic. We are grateful to her and her family for their gifts to America.”
