WASHINGTON, D.C. – A Georgia woman, who allegedly was denied consideration for credit by a Georgia credit union, has reached a confidential settlement agreement with the company.
The 2025 lawsuit challenging the policy of the Credit Union of Georgia (CUGA) was filed by MALDEF (Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund) on behalf of Carmen Belem Pimentel Alcocer, a recipient of DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). The case, Pimentel Alcocer v. Credit Union of Georgia, was resolved on mutually agreeable, confidential terms.
